Kyle Randall

Kyle Randall is a sound designer, music editor, and composer whose work has defined the sound of some of the most recognized series in narrative audio.

A long-standing creative for Wondery, he has designed and scored hundreds of episodes across shows including Business Wars, Dr. Death, Lawless Planet, Hollywood & Crime, and Imagined Life. Business Wars earned multiple Ambie Awards from the Podcast Academy as well as a Webby Award for sound design. Several of the series he designed held the top position on Apple Podcasts for weeks during their runs.

Beyond podcasting, Kyle spent several years as a composer and sound designer at Bay Area Sound, contributing to major Telltale Games titles including The Walking Dead, Batman, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Minecraft Story Mode. More recently, he served as co-composer and diegetic music producer on Borderlands 4, and has worked as a music copyist and librarian at Skywalker Sound.

A trained concert composer, Kyle brings a composer's sensibility to every project — approaching narrative sound through the lens of pacing, structure, and emotional architecture. He holds degrees in music composition from Harvard University and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and won the American Prize in Composition in 2015. He is the founder of Dovetail Sound.
